On Tuesday May 16 at 14:00, Netherlands Business Support Office Barcelona organizes La Mesa Naranja at Restaurant Pomarada (Pg. de Gràcia, 78).
The goal of this networking lunch: an informal lunch with content and opportunity for networking. La Mesa Naranja is based on the simple principle that everyone needs to have a lunch in order to continue the day productively, this in combination with good company of a diverse group of people makes your lunch more fun, more meaningful, more useful and more educational.
Marieke van Hal from the Manifesta 15 Barcelona Office wil be our special guest. She will present their event, that will take place in Barcelona next year.
Manifesta is an Amsterdam-based Nomadic Contemporary Art event that will celebrate its 2024 edition in Barcelona. It is the 4th most influential biennial in the world and attracts about 200.000 visitors.
Manifesta is a recurring platform for dialogue between art and society, that explicitly seeks to reach territories outside the dominant centres of European artistic production, looking for fresh approaches and the possibility of creating new cultural territories.
It is a bottom-up research-based event, connecting global issues to local problems, mediating how creative practitioners can relate to local communities, acting as an incubator to help stimulate transition.
It does so by opening the doors to alternative ways of working, both in the practice of curating content and in mediation and education. A much more social and experimental approach than conventional art fairs, constrained by the needs of a market that is increasingly polarised in a few cities around.
