In 2023 the rules and regulations of Social Security contributions by the self-employed have changed.
A new quotes system for self-employed workers has come into effect; people are quoted based on their estimated monthly income, unlike the previous system of selecting the self-employed person themselves for a Social Security subscription fee.
A total of 15 different income brackets have been established, ranging from less than €670/month (they pay a self-employed fee of €230) to more than €6.000/month (they pay a €500 self-employed fee).
